Debra Lee `Debbie` Petty, Age:65

Debra (Debbie) Lee Petty, age 65, unexpectedly passed away on October 10, 2022.

She was born on August 6, 1957 in Chicago to her parents, the late Joyce Kizewski Nee Meyer and the late Robert Petty and late stepfather Robert Kizewski.  She went to Carl Schurz High School. Then went on to study at Northeastern Illinois University and followed a career as quality management at Baxter Healthcare Corporation within the penicillin department.

Being raised in Chicago, School Street and the city remained in her heart wherever Debbie went. She was a huge fan of the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls, not so much of the White Sox. If a game wasn’t on, you could find Debbie watching Jeopardy. She knew every answer that was asked, but we could never convince her to go on and win. However, Debbie would tell us to wait until she wins the lottery and will take care of all of us. That was the kind of person Debbie was. She was so loving, caring, and kind to everyone. She would put everyone before herself. Her love and kindness extended out to animals. All animals loved Debbie, and she always had treats ready to give them out.

You could talk hours with Debbie about anything, whether it be about books, music, or life. She was always ready to lend a listening ear, unless one of her shows or games were on. Debbie gave great advice , and when asked to keep a secret , she could keep one like no other.

Debbie has a brilliant, creative flair for writing. She wrote amazing poems, and was in the process of writing a book.

Debbie was the ageless, eldest of the 4 D’s sisters. Who had  a bond that never will be broken. She is survived by her beloved sisters, Donna Adams (Late Tom), Deanne Joy, and Dawn Schwocher (Tony).  A loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Best friend of 23 years Christine Drew and her daughter Kiara Kleban, who Debbie loved and regarded as her daughter. Debbie was a devoted friend to all.

Debbie really made an impact on everyone’s heart, mind, and soul. She shared her wisdom with every passing by. She will be truly missed, but her memories and soul lives on in everyone.
